Ahh the White Board

Well I'm not sure how many people out there have the same problem as I do, but I found so far that the White Board has started the Revolution of Chores.

You see the problem I was having was with my boyfriend, who is almost 30. We have just recently started living together, and I have come to the conclusion that he still thinks that he is living with "mommy". I must admit I am not too happy about this, I can only assume that he had no weekly or daily chores when he was growing up because he is seriously lacking in the "clean up after yourself" skills. Now we have been together for 10 years and I know that Mommy has taken care of him this far, I just didn't think it was this bad. I work shift work and often have time to do some housework before I go to work, or after, depending on the shift. I could no longer take comming home to a destroyed kitchen or overflowing coffee table, and a boyfriend attached to the computer playing that time-sucking game of WOW (that's World of WarCrap as I like to call it). Well I exploded and found that the only solution to my constant disappointment of housework not being done was to bring back an old technique that I am sure most of our parents used on us..... The Chore Chart. I remember having to switch days of the week with my sister for who had to do the dishes or tidy up. There was no getting out of it, it was our RESPONSIBILITY. So as I thought about actually having to make one of these Chore Charts for my 30 year old boyfriend, I got excited and purchased a White Board, his first chore was to hang the board on the wall, right above his computer, so while he is playing his ever so addicting game and he happens to look up he will always see what chores he is responsible for. Well that's one chore done, on to the next. Hopefully this technique will prove to be affective and I can pass on the wisdom to all the other women out there who need to teach their men how to do basic chores.
